 Users faced a new Facebook Photo Leak
The people who used Facebook Login and granted permission to third-party apps were more likely to face this issue. The issue has been fixed but because of the bug, some apps may have had access to “a broader set of photos”, for a period between September 13 and September 25.
The bug gave 876 developers of up to 1,500 apps access to photos of 6.8 million users. Normally these can only see the photos that people share on their timeline. But later on, they got access to other pictures, like the people shared photos on Facebook Stories or uploaded to Facebook.
Facebook says it’s sorry this happened. Moreover, the social giant is rolling out tools for app developers that will allow them to determine which people using their app might be impacted. The company will work with those developers to delete the photos. Additionally, if your account has affected by this bug you will be notified via an alert on Facebook.
Moreover, in the period between April and September of this year, Facebook Removed over 1.5 billion Fake Accounts. Not only this Facebook has also deleted 2.1 billion pieces of spam. Facebook shared the staggering number in its Community Standards Report. According to Facebook, many fake accounts are the direct result of cyber attacks.
