January
The whole Pakistan mourned after the tragic demise of Zubaida Aapa at the beginning of 2018. Zubaida Tariq was loved by everyone and was the first celebrity chef of Pakistan; her cooking expertise and culinary skills had no match. The death of Zubaida Aapa at the age of 72 was definitely the end of an era!
The death of the 88-year old Bollywood actress, Ava Mukherjee was yet another tragic news at the start of 2018. The actress was known for her supporting roles in many Bollywood movies including the super hit ‘Devdas’, in which she played Shah Rukh Khan’s grandmother.
The first month of 2018 witnessed two other major deaths including the Irish singer and songwriter, Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries, whose accidental death by drowning in a hotel at the age of 46 became the tragic headline.
The 91-year old Swedish founder of IKEA, Ingvar Kamprad also passed away in January 2018.
February
Veteran Pakistani actor, Qazi Waji died due to a heart attack on 11th February 2018. The 87-year old actor was immensely loved by the people having served our industry for many years!
February 2018 also witnessed the demise of the 54-year old famous Bollywood actress, Sri Devi. She died due to accidental drowning in a hotel bathtub in Dubai where she was attending a wedding.
The ‘Hawa Hawai girl’ has millions of followers around the world who were all deeply saddened by her sudden death.
March
The world lost a gem as the world-famous scientist, Stephen Hawking passed away at the age of 76. Known for his contribution towards physics, cosmology and for popularizing the secrets of the universe, Stephen Hawking had ‘amyotrophic lateral sclerosis’ that made him spent most of his life in a wheelchair and he communicated via a computer speech synthesizer. A film on his life The Theory of Everything also became quite popular when released in 2014.
Veteran Bollywood actress, Nargis Rabadi also known as Shammi, also left her followers mourning after her sad demise. The 88-year old actress had starred in more than 200 Bollywood films and played several roles as the lead and second lead actress.
April
The 86-year old Milos Forman also left this world in April 2018. He was the director of the famous movies including “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Amadeus” for which he also won the Academy Award.
Another tragedy of 2018 occurred when the famous Swedish superstar Dj Avicii was found dead in Muscat. He was only 28 at the time of his death and reportedly committed suicide.
The shocking demise of Bollywood actor Narendra Jha was yet another tragedy of the year. The 55-year old actor was known for his supporting roles in SRK’s Raees, Shahid Kapoor’s Haider and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil.

Bollywood producer Arjun Hingorani left this world on May 5th, 2018. The veteran filmmaker’s famous project was the 60s film ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’, starring Bollywood superstar Dharmendra in the lead.
June
The suicide of the 61-year old US chef and TV food show host, Anthony Bourdain is yet another tragic memory of this year.
Another sad incident happened when the 20-year rapper XXXTentacio was shot in Florida for an attempt of robbery.
July
The 92-year French filmmaker, Claude Lanzmann left this world in July 2018. He was behind the landmark Holocaust documentary ‘Shoah’.
August
The famous American singer and songwriter, Aretha Franklin died at the age of 76 due to cancer. She was behind many hits songs including ‘Respect” and ‘Natural Woman’.
Bollywood actress Sujatha Kumar also passed away on 19th August after battling with cancer. The actress was famous for her role in English Vinglish as Sridevi’s sister.
September
The tragic suicide of young Pakistani model Anam Tanoli shook the whole nation. The 26-year model had shared a video message prior to her suicide attempt requesting to take depression seriously.
Famous Hollywood star Burt Reynolds also died due to a heart attack at the age of 82 this September.
October
The 94-year old French-American singer, Charles Aznavour passed away in October 2018.
November
November witnessed the death of another legend that made the whole world mourn. Famous American comic writer of the super cool Marvel universe, Stan Lee passed away at the age of 95. He was the co-creator of some epic superheroes including Spider-Man, Iron Man, X-Men, and Black Panther.
Famous Indian playback singer Mohammad Aziz also left his fans mourning after he died from a cardiac arrest in November. The 64-year old singer gave many of the superhit songs of the 80s and 90s.
