WhatsApp and Instagram Gets “From Facebook” Stamp

Facebook is rebranding WhatsApp and Instagram

Facebook is renaming WhatsApp and Instagram. Being a parent company, it has the right to do whatever he wants, but rebranding a full established business seems to be a stupid idea. It seems Facebook wants to show the world that it is the boss. No doubt, both the social media platforms have more subscribers than Facebook and people have tilted towards these platforms due to the great features introduced by them.

The renaming, according to the rumours, will be quite funny. Instagram and WhatsApp will be renamed as Instagram by Facebook and WhatsApp by Facebook, respectively. The news was floating over different news channels, and the company has also confirmed it. In a statement, it said that:

“We want to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook”.

Facebook had acquired Instagram in 2012 and WhatsApp in 2014. Facebook had never boosted about the ownership in last some year. So this news has come as a shock for many of the tech journalist. The employees from both the companies were already informed about this decision with a reason that the social media giant, Facebook, wants to be recognised for all the services it offers.

This move has also come as a result of the deteriorating condition of Facebook. By adding “from facebook” to both its platforms will show that it is also able to launch non-controversial apps.

Anyway, this rebranding is quite confusing and also raises many questions. Let’s see how the company will address it.
