Vivo’s much-anticipated S12 series has finally gone on sale after months of leaks and rumors, and it is nothing short of spectacular. According to words, the lineup will include a standard Vivo S12 and a larger, more powerful S12 Pro. Both devices are powered by high-end Dimensity chipsets and feature impressive dual-LED flashes for selfies.
Let’s look at some of the device’s specifications right out of the box.
Display and Design
The Vivo S12 series has a very stylish look to it. Rectangular in shape, the smartphone has rounded corners. A protruding camera island is housed in a glossy finish on the back. Despite the slightly larger notch, both lineup models have beautiful displays with thin bezels and dual-LED flashes embedded for an elaborate selfie experience.
Flat 6.44″ AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling is on the vanilla S12. In contrast, the S12 Pro model has a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with the exact resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate, while the S12 model has a 5.5-inch collection.
HDR10+-compliant screens are found on both models. For biometrics and authentication, both devices use an optical fingerprint sensor embedded under the display. The vanilla S12 is available in Gold, Blue, and Black chromatic hues. While the Pro model is available in Black, Blue, and Yellow, it is only one color.

The camera setup is the most impressive aspect of the lineup. The vanilla model has a triple-lens configuration for optics. A 108MP primary lens supports an 8MP ultra-wide with a 2MP macro sensor. This phone has an excellent selfie setup with a 44MP selfie camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a dual-LED flash embedded in the front notch. According to the company’s claims, flashes can be manually set to any desired color between 3000K and 6000K.
With its LED flash-assisted triple camera unit on the back, the S12 Pro looks very much like the vanilla version. This package includes two macro sensors: 8 megapixels and 2 megapixels. It features a 50MP selfie camera complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide camera with dual-LED flash built into the front notch.
The Dimensity 1100 chipset, fabricated in a 6nm process, powers the S12. This device provides 8/12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The Dimensity 1200 processor in the S12 Pro is more powerful. This chip has proven to be an absolute powerhouse for both gaming and everyday tasks. It has two storage options: 8GB RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage for the first one, and 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for the second option. Origin OS Ocean is installed on top of Android 11 on both devices.
