The Saudi Embassy in Islamabad announced the start of the project, which is being carried out by the KSRelief Center as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian projects. It is aimed at assisting needy families and ensuring food security for Pakistan’s underprivileged. Around 175,000 people will be chosen to benefit from it with the help of local governments.

According to the specifications, each food package weighs 97 kilogrammes and contains 80 kilogrammes of flour, five litres of cooking oil, five kilogrammes of sugar, five kilogrammes of chana daal, and two kilogrammes of dates, enough to feed a family for the entire month of Ramadan.

25,000 food packages would be provided in the first phase in nine Sindh districts, three Punjab districts, and to earthquake-affected people in Gilgit Baltistan. Badin, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sajawal, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Khairpur, and Ghotki are among Sindh’s beneficiaries. Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, and Rahim Yar Khan are the districts in Punjab that will benefit.

The second phase will begin in July with the distribution of 25,000 food packages in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the third phase will begin in October to help with food crises and needs across the country.
