Now, in the Islamabad High Court, a case has been filed seeking global action against Wilders for blasphemy attempts. In this context, the IHC urged the government to take proactive measures to prevent anti-Islam legislator Geert Wilders’ tweets.
According to the petition, Wilders’ blasphemous act has damaged the sensibilities of almost 1.5 billion Muslims around the world. As a result, the Dutch ambassador should be called, and a strong complaint against the blasphemous act should be recorded. Wilders’ Twitter account should also be permanently restricted, according to the petition. Furthermore, the government should take international action against him.
The case was heard by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, who ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Information Technology Ministry to take action. He also ordered the IT ministry to bring the issue before the cabinet before taking any action.
He went on to say that the court made this decision in the public interest due to Wilders’ anti-Islam tweets. Now is the time for the government to take all necessary steps to safeguard all Muslim feelings.
