This Privacy Policy explains how Daily InfoTainment (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://www.dailyinfotainment.com (the “Site”), contact us, subscribe to updates, or comment on our articles. It also explains the choices you have, including how to manage cookies and personalized advertising.
1. Who we are
Daily InfoTainment is an independently published fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment website operated from Peshawar, Pakistan. For the purposes of data-protection law (including the UK/EU GDPR and similar laws), we are the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.
- Website: https://www.dailyinfotainment.com
- Privacy contact email: [YOUR PRIVACY EMAIL — e.g. [email protected]]
- Contact form: https://www.dailyinfotainment.com/contact-us
2. Information we collect
a) Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, website (optional), and message.
- Comments: your chosen name/alias, email address, website (optional), and the comment itself.
- Email subscription: your email address if you subscribe to receive new posts by email.
b) Information collected automatically
- Server & security data: IP address, browser type/version, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. These are processed by our host and Cloudflare for delivery, analytics-at-scale, and abuse prevention.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small text files and identifiers (including cookies, web beacons/pixels, IP addresses, and device identifiers) stored on your device. These are used for site function, security, statistics, and — where you consent — advertising and personalization. See Section 4 for advertising cookies.
c) Information from third parties
- Gravatar (Automattic): if you comment and have a Gravatar profile, an anonymized hash of your email address may be used to display your avatar. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
- Google reCAPTCHA: our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam. reCAPTCHA may collect device and usage information under Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
3. How we use your information
- To operate the Site, publish articles, and keep it secure and free of spam.
- To respond to messages sent through our contact form.
- To display your comment (and avatar) if you leave one, and to moderate comments.
- To email you new posts if you subscribe (you can unsubscribe any time).
- To understand aggregate readership and improve our content.
- To display advertising, measure ad performance, and — only where permitted and, for EEA/UK/Swiss visitors, where you have given consent — personalize ads.
4. Advertising cookies and Google AdSense
We monetize the Site with advertising, including Google AdSense. In connection with ad serving:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies (such as the Google DoubleClick cookie) and other identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may view, manage, and control personalized advertising data collected by Google in Google Ads Settings (this lets you opt out of personalized advertising from Google).
- Google and its third-party vendors may place or read cookies or use web beacons/IP addresses to collect information as a result of ad serving on this website.
- How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partners
- You can opt out of many third-party vendors’ cookies for interest-based advertising in the US via aboutads.info/choices, and in Europe via youronlinechoices.com.
- Advertising shown on the Site is selected by advertisers and Google; we do not control which specific ads appear. We never ask you to click ads, and we do not sell your personal information for money.
For more detail on Google’s advertising practices, see Google’s Advertising Technologies and AdSense Program Policies.
5. Cookie consent
Where required by law (including for visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland), a cookie banner will ask for your consent before non-essential cookies (advertising and personalization cookies) are placed. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the [COOKIE SETTINGS LINK — add once your CMP is installed, e.g. “Cookie Settings” footer link] link in the footer. Strictly necessary cookies (needed for security and basic site function) do not require consent.
Where technically supported, we use Google Consent Mode so that advertising cookies are only activated after you give consent.
6. Embedded content from other websites
Articles may include embedded content (YouTube videos, Instagram posts, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the source website directly. Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content — including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any embedded services you interact with.
7. Email subscription
If you subscribe, your email address is used solely to send you our new posts. Each email includes an unsubscribe link; you can also contact us to be removed. Subscription data is processed by our Jetpack email provider.
8. Legal bases for processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)
- Consent: advertising/personalization cookies, email subscription, non-essential cookies (you may withdraw consent at any time).
- Legitimate interests: site security, spam prevention, aggregate statistics, responding to your enquiries, editorial publishing.
- Legal obligation: responding to lawful requests.
Data may be processed in Pakistan, the United States, and other countries where our processors (e.g., Cloudflare, Google, Automattic) operate. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate data;
- Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”);
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Portability (receive your data in a structured format);
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing);
- Opt out of “sharing” for targeted advertising (e.g., California CCPA/CPRA and similar laws). We do not sell personal information for money. Where the law treats cookie-based advertising as “sale” or “sharing,” you can opt out by declining non-essential cookies in our cookie banner and via Google Ads Settings. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required.
To exercise any right, email [YOUR PRIVACY EMAIL] or use our contact form. We respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
10. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. We do not engage in interest-based advertising based on the activity of users known to be under 13, or on child-directed content.
11. Data retention
- Comments: kept indefinitely (as described in Section 2) unless you ask us to delete them.
- Contact form messages: kept for up to 12 MONTHS unless a longer retention is needed for a record of correspondence.
- Subscription: until you unsubscribe.
- Advertising cookies: per the cookie lifetimes set by each vendor (typically up to 13 months; see Google’s documentation).
12. Security
We use HTTPS, Cloudflare protection, spam filtering, and access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate measures.
13. Links to other websites
Our articles may link to external sites (brands, news sources, social networks). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will show the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
15. Contact us
