The great owners of Cannoli by Cafe Soul in the federal capital Islamabad, Diya and Uzma, are facing severe criticism from social media users for ridiculing their restaurant manager's ability to speak English.

The viral video was posted on Cannoli by Cafe Soul Instagram account, which was later deleted after criticism.

The video, which went viral on social media, shows that female owners ask their manager named Owais various questions in English and afterwards his introduction.

At the request of the owners, when the manager introduced himself in English, he did not have a command of the language.

Commenting on this, one of the women in the video laughed and said, "This is our manager, who has been here for 9 years and this is his beautiful English." She also mentioned the payment of huge salary to the manager.

Since the video went viral on social media, the owners of Cafe Soul have been criticized by many users for making fun of the manager. In this regard, the hashtag #BoycottCannoli is trending on social media while at the same time the hashtag #BoycottCafeSoul is also trending.

A user named Shanza Faiq wrote that it is unacceptable to make fun of a manager speaking English in such a ridiculous way, no matter how rich you are. She added that perhaps the owners of the Cannoli should need to enter the basic classes for human politeness.

Ehtesham Siddiqui shared a photo related to the English language on which it was written that 'English is a language and not a measure of intelligence'. He wrote in the caption of the tweet that everyone living in Pakistan should know this.

A user named Amber wrote that the female owners of Canoli who made a video of this man named Owais and made fun of his English, it is called workplace harassment and what you two rich women have done is extremely disgusting. She added that English is not a measure of intelligence.

A user named Ali wrote that Owais looks more educated than these two women, wearing a mask and following SOPs. He wrote that he has been running a restaurant in the same language for 9 years and making money for a person like you who suffers from inferiority complex.

Muhammad Mehdi wrote that the best example of 'literate ignorant', graduating from a good college, going to a good school does not mean that you are educated.

Developing Pakistan Twitter handle wrote that this man has been running a restaurant with the same skills for 9 years and making money for these pitiable women.

A Twitter handle called Insta wrote that this is 'workplace harassment' but no one will say a word because 'man' is being affected.

Showbiz celebrities also expressed their views and criticize the cafe owners. Actor and host Ahmed Ali Butt reacted to the cafe owners' video on Instagram Story.

"It's not enough to make fun of someone's English for fun and just regret posting it online," he wrote. Ahmed Ali Butt wrote that those who taught you English did not teach you the first lesson of humanity, 'respect'.

"I want someone to speak Urdu / Punjabi / Sindhi / Pashto / Seraiki and every language spoken in Pakistan fluently because you live here," he added.

Wasim Akram's wife Shanira Akram wrote that I know what it is like to be asked to speak another language, while you also know how that language is spoken.

"It's hard to speak, especially when you're compelled, when you're forced to speak. Don't show anyone in front of the camera for your own entertainment," she said.

Ali Gul Peer tweeted. "We were bored so we made fun of our employee who can't speak English like we do with our fake accents,"  He further wrote that if someone would kindly give Owais Bhai an honorable job in Islamabad where he could not be made fun of for entertainment, he would meet him at Canoli.
