Prominent journalist and politician Iqrar Ul Hassan was taken into custody from his Lahore residence during a late-night operation.
Iqrar Ul Hassan, a former television host, prominent journalist, and politician, was arrested from his residence in DHA, Lahore, at approximately 2:40 am during a late-night raid. His second wife, Farah Iqrar, alongside fellow media personality Wasim Badami, confirmed the sudden detention through video statements released shortly after the incident.

Known for his investigative television journalism career, Iqrar Ul Hassan built a wide reputation for exposing social grievances across Pakistan. Over the years, his media footprint expanded as he transitioned into active political engagement while maintaining a strong digital presence. His long-time associate and news anchor Wasim Badami took to social media to amplify news of the raid, confirming the detention to millions of online followers.

Describing the distressing ordeal, Farah Iqrar revealed that uniformed personnel carrying the NCCI insignia forced entry into their home while the family slept. She stated that officers broke the main gate, physically pushed her, and confiscated all electronic devices belonging to the household and support staff. She noted that officers instructed women inside to cover themselves during the disruption, adding that subsequent attempts to contact authorities yielded no immediate clarification.

The sudden operation triggered immediate debate across social media, dividing public opinion on digital platforms. While supporters expressed alarm over the breach of domestic privacy and demanded official answers, critics questioned the motives, with some labeling the incident a staged publicity maneuver. As state institutions remain silent regarding formal charges, observers await further legal developments to clarify the situation.
