The 10th edition of Telecom Review Excellence Awards 2018 (TRSummit) was held in Dubai last night. Many of the world’s top telecommunication companies including Nokia, Huawei, Tata, Cisco, and more were present at the occasion.
The ‘Best Asian Operator’ award was handed to PTCL, which has somewhat surprised a lot of Pakistanis.
Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited isn’t exactly known for providing a stable internet connection in the country. This is evident from PTCL’s own social media pages where people swarm to complain about the services condition of the company.
So when Pakistani users of PTCL heard that their internet service provider had won an award for being the best in Asia, they weren’t exactly happy about it. A lot of mix reaction from the general public was seen.
While some congratulated PTCL for being the only Pakistani company to be honored at the prestigious award ceremony, others found an opportunity to express their surprise and dissatisfaction over the services provided by the ISP.
