Shelter Home in Islamabad – Peoples Donating Heavily for Comfort of Homeless Persons

The Prime Minister of Pakistan inaugurated two shelter homes in Islamabad on Wednesday, 26th December 2018. One was opened in Tarlai area while the other one was opened in sector I-11/4 of Islamabad. The combined capacity of the two shelter homes is 300 beds.

The shelter home has started providing food and temporary shelter to the homeless and people who are unable to afford temporary accommodation in the capital city of Pakistan.

The panagah has covered all the basic needs from food, clean toilets, and warm beds. Only three days after its opening, the generous people of the city have decided to increase the comfort level of the people residing in the shelter homes by donating various items.

These items include LED screens, chaarpais, chairs, tables, woolen caps and socks and more. Additionally, the ICRC has also donated an additional ambulance to make sure people get to the hospital on time in an emergency.

This is a very positive thing and we hope that it is observed by the rest of the nation too. Currently, shelter homes are already operating in Peshawar, Lahore, and Karachi.
