Broadcasting Production Company IMG Reliance Stops Covering PSL 4 Following Pulwama Attack

Due to Pulwama attack, Indian sports channel DSport, who was the official broadcaster of Pakistan Super League (PSL 4) in India has stopped showing Twenty20 tournament. The fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League got underway on the same day of the attack. However, the worst news is that  PSL production Company IMG Reliance who was broadcasting production services for PSL19 has also pulled out.

PSL 4 Backed out by IMG Reliance and its enough

Not only this, but Indian Sports website Circbuzz has also stopped covering PSL and has also deleted all Pakistan related content on its site. No doubt this is a very shameful and petty act on their behalf. This is very disappointing as sport and politics should be always kept separate. No doubt, Cricket has always played a building role and has bridged the gap between countries.

Denying Indian Cricket fans the right to follow PSL 19 by blocking digital coverage is highly defaming action.  Being the only producers of the event, the development means PSL will go off the air unless the PCB brings in alternate production services, an official said.

PCB’s Managing Director Wasim Khan said:

We have been informed by IMG Reliance that they will be unable to partner with us for the remaining HBL PSL 2019 and PCB has reserved all its rights. The PCB always had a contingency plan in place, and we are confident we will be in a position to announce the new partner on Monday after the completion of the formalities.

The fourth edition of PSL got underway in Dubai on Thursday. The six-team tournament is currently being held in Dubai and Sharjah before moving to Pakistan for final eight matches, including the summit clash in Karachi.
