A year after her tragic death, the alleged murderer of digital creator Sana Yousaf, Umer Hayat, has dramatically withdrawn his confession in an Islamabad court, sparking public outrage.
Almost a year after the tragic murder of popular Pakistani digital creator Sana Yousaf on June 2nd in Islamabad, a shocking development has emerged in the ongoing case. The alleged murderer, Umer Hayat, who had previously admitted to the crime, has now dramatically withdrawn his statement in court, denying any involvement in her death.

Sana Yousaf was a rising star in the digital realm, known for her engaging content and vibrant online presence. Her sudden and violent death sent shockwaves through the Pakistani entertainment industry and her dedicated fanbase. She was allegedly shot dead by an acquaintance, Umer Hayat, who reportedly entered her G-13 residence and committed the act in front of her mother and paternal aunt, before she was pronounced dead at the hospital and later buried in her family graveyard in Hunza.

In a recent hearing at the Islamabad court, Umer Hayat recorded his statement under Section 342, completely recanting his earlier confession. The 23-year-old accused claimed he never rented or took any car, asserting that the rental documents presented as evidence were fake. He further stated that he never came to Islamabad, never met Sana Yousaf, and had never been to her residence in G-13. Hayat also argued that no videos or footage of the incident are available, vehemently denying any connection to Sana Yousaf’s murder. He elaborated, “I was arrested on the base of suspicion. I never went to the location, nothing is on record, her mobile phone was not stolen, I was never in contact with her, we had no fight, and Sana Yousaf’s parents have dragged me into a false case. Upon reaching the police station I came to know that I murdered her.”

This sudden turn of events has ignited a fresh wave of public outcry, with many social media users expressing their dismay and frustration over the perceived delays in justice. Commentators online are highlighting the seemingly clear-cut nature of the case, demanding swift resolution and justice for Sana Yousaf. The public sentiment reflects a deep concern over the efficiency of the justice system, as calls for accountability grow louder.
