I have no reply for them, and I don’t want to talk about them. We follow our legacy. I followed that; it’s our legacy of a hundred years. We Qawals do that. Whatever I did was part of my family tradition, and I don’t regret that.” He emphasized the traditional aspect of his performance, clarifying that he and his entourage stood respectfully at the edges of the grave, not inside it, and that Quran Khuwani and prayers preceded the qawwali. “You could see that through my body language. I can’t believe my loved one talked so much against me,” he added, expressing disappointment at the backlash from those close to him.
