Renowned actress Zara Noor Abbas recently opened up about the pervasive issue of weight shaming women face, sharing personal experiences and strong opinions on the matter.
Zara Noor Abbas recently sparked a significant conversation during her appearance on the podcast Moms The Word, hosted by Aisha Yousaf. The celebrated actress candidly addressed the persistent and often cruel issue of weight shaming that women encounter in society, sharing insights that resonated deeply with listeners.

With a formidable presence both on screen and online, Zara Noor Abbas has cemented her status as one of Pakistan’s most versatile and talented TV and film actresses. Known for her compelling roles in dramas like Khamoshi, Ehd-e-Wafa, and Badshah Begum, she commands a robust following of 6.7 million on Instagram. Happily married to actor Asad Siddiqui, the couple recently welcomed a beautiful daughter, adding another dimension to her public life and advocacy.

During the insightful discussion, Zara articulated a powerful defense against body shaming, emphasizing the incredible strength women possess. She declared, “I always give a shut-up call to people who troll women over their weight or comment on their body. Just tell them that Allah has given women the power to deliver a baby, and obviously the body goes through changes. It is almost an impossible thing to give birth to another human but women do it. So stop trolling women over weight and stop discussing their bodies. Women have now reached the moon, and we are still discussing their weight.” She further recounted a personal incident where a shopkeeper made inappropriate comments about her weight while she was buying ice cream, prompting her husband, Asad Siddiqui, to confront the individual.
Zara’s unflinching honesty serves as a crucial reminder of the unwarranted scrutiny women face regarding their bodies. Her words empower women to reclaim their narratives and challenge societal norms. What are your thoughts on Zara’s stand against body shaming, and how do you believe the entertainment industry can further advocate for body positivity?
