Nadia Khan Slams Raja London Ka — Calls Performances Flat and Script Basic

Veteran host Nadia Khan didn’t hold back on Kya Drama Hai, tearing into Express TV’s trending drama Raja London Ka and its cast.

Raja London Ka, the latest action-revenge-romance drama airing on Express TV, has been racking up over two million views on YouTube, with audiences praising the on-screen chemistry between Samar Jafri and Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz. But not everyone is charmed. On a recent episode of Kya Drama Hai, veteran television personality Nadia Khan delivered a scathing review, calling the drama flat, uninspired, and poorly performed across the board.

Nadia Khan’s Heavy Criticism of Samar Jafri’s Raja London Ka

Nadia Khan is no stranger to Pakistani television. A household name for decades, she has hosted some of the country’s most-watched morning and entertainment shows, earning a reputation for candid, no-nonsense commentary. Her critiques carry weight precisely because she has spent years inside the industry and understands what separates forgettable content from genuine craft. When she speaks, producers and actors listen — and this time, she had plenty to say about Nadia Khan‘s assessment of the drama’s creative direction.

Nadia Khan’s Heavy Criticism of Samar Jafri’s Raja London Ka

Speaking on her show, Nadia did not mince words. “I didn’t like it. I watched it twice, and even then, I didn’t find it worth watching. Sorry,” she stated bluntly. She singled out the performances, calling the female lead Ameema Saleem “quite weak” and saying Samar Jafri’s portrayal was equally flat. The only actor she spared was Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz, acknowledging his effort amid what she described as a creatively bankrupt production. She took particular issue with a birthday party scene — where a poor guest is accused of theft and sent to jail — calling it “typical and boring” and something Pakistani audiences have seen since childhood. Her broader critique targeted the writing: “Intelligent writing should be seen in every scene. It was quite a basic idea to clean Landa Bazaar, which they did, but that wasn’t enough. They should have introduced different ideas, such as conducting modeling shows or opening coffee shops. This guy should come up with genius and unique ideas.” She urged young creators to push beyond formulaic storytelling, adding, “I feel that we get happy over very basic sequences and don’t put in enough effort.”

The backlash from fans was swift, with social media divided between those who agreed with Nadia’s assessment and loyal viewers defending the drama’s mass appeal. Raja London Ka, directed by Fajr Raza and written by Shahid Dogar under Full Frame Production, clearly resonates with a large YouTube audience — but Nadia’s critique raises a question that lingers over Pakistani television: does viewership alone justify creative stagnation, or should dramas like this be held to a higher standard? With the show still airing and conversations heating up online, it remains to be seen whether the production team takes any of this feedback to heart.
