As the sacred month of Muharram envelops the Islamic world in solemn remembrance, Pakistani celebrities have stepped forward to honor the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) and the sacrifices at Karbala. From traveling to Iraq for Niaz distribution to organizing local Majalis in Lahore, the entertainment industry’s prominent figures are marking the first month of the Islamic calendar with profound devotion and public displays of faith.

Pakistani Celebrities Observing Muharram Rituals

Imran Abbas, the popular Pakistani actor known for his roles in numerous dramas and Bollywood projects, regularly spends the 9th and 10th of Muharram in Iraq. He was recently seen distributing Niaz in Karbala, a practice that underscores his deep connection to the spiritual significance of the month. Imran Abbas frequently shares these moments with his millions of followers, bringing the reverence of Karbala to screens across the globe.

The Muharram commemorations extend across the industry with distinct personal touches. Sadia Imam, the renowned actress and host, organizes Majalis-e-Aza at her home every year, drawing women from various walks of life, including fellow celebrities, to remember the events of Karbala. Mohsin Abbas Haider travels to his ancestral city of Faisalabad to participate in mourning gatherings and processions, while also reciting Nohas. Rabia Noreen shared poetry expressing Hazrat Imam Hussain’s sacrifices on the 9th of Muharram, and Maya Khan posted from Mila Abbas Sabeel in Karbala. News personality Waseem Badami continues his annual tradition of reciting Marcias and Nohas, while Muneeb Butt attended Majalis and distributed Niazi. Fareeha Jabeen hosted Niaz distribution at her Lahore residence, and young actors Aadi Khan and Sami Khan also participated in the commemorative events.
