Oppo’s Find X5 will debut on February 1 following the Chinese New Year, as we already know. However, thanks to the trustworthy Chinese tipper Digital Chat Station, we now have a more precise launch date.
The leaks that have come from the source with Iron Man’s avatar are usually spot on. According to him, the Oppo Find X5 series would go on sale somewhere in the second half of February, if not earlier. Also included in the leak are some details on the Find X5’s Dimensity 9000 display technology.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC is likely to be found within the Find X5 Pro, based on the facts we’ve gleaned thus far. It’s not clear how well Oppo will be able to keep the processor from overheating. The MariSilicon X NPU developed by Oppo for AI workloads will also be unveiled.
There’s a good chance that Oppo is developing its chipsets as a backup plan in the event that Huawei goes under.
There will certainly be a wearable device or two on display as well, although Oppo hasn’t announced anything about those just yet.
