The Capital Development Authority intends to build a world-class cricket stadium and a five-star hotel in the Margalla Range foothills.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said during a news conference on Tuesday that the CDA has been granted authority to commence the contracting process for the stadium and the world-class hotel.
“I have asked CDA Chairman Aamir Ahmed Ali to initiate the process of constructing a stadium and hotel in the capital to world standards.” According to the interior ministry, the tendering process would start shortly.
When ‘The News’ contacted Naveed Elahi, a member of the Planning CDA, he stated that a few potential locations for the stadium were being considered.
“The most likely location for the capital cricket facility is on the foothills of the Margalla Range.” To be more precise, along the connecting road between Saidpur and Saidpur village.”
