A Karachi businessman’s brutal murder in Balochistan sparks national outrage. His father’s heartfelt appeal to the government highlights Pakistan’s security concerns.
A profound tragedy has shaken the nation as Ali Murtaza, a young businessman from Karachi, was brutally killed in Dasht, Balochistan. The devastating incident occurred recently when Ali Murtaza, accompanied by his wife and two young daughters, was travelling from Quetta to Karachi. Their journey took a fatal turn when Google Maps allegedly directed them into a volatile area of Dasht, a region reportedly associated with militants. Local assailants opened fire on their family vehicle, resulting in Ali Murtaza‘s immediate death. His wife sustained severe injuries, while their two daughters miraculously escaped harm.

Ali Murtaza was known in the business community of Karachi as a peaceful and law-abiding citizen. His life, tragically cut short, represents a profound loss not only for his family but also for the wider community. The entrepreneur had embarked on what was meant to be a simple family trip, highlighting the unforeseen dangers that can arise even on domestic travel routes. His funeral prayers were offered at Rehmania Mosque on Tariq Road in Karachi, attended by a heartbroken assembly of family, relatives, and business colleagues.

Following the burial, Ali Murtaza‘s grieving father made an impassioned plea to the government, his voice heavy with sorrow. He recounted the horrific events, stating, “My son went to Balochistan thinking it’s his country, his home. If it is my country, then that place is also mine. If that’s not part of Pakistan, close it for people. Please forgive me, save the upcoming generation. I have borne a huge loss, but he should be the last child who was killed. Please protect the citizens of Pakistan or please stop citizens from visiting if you can’t provide security. My request to Pakistan is to stop visiting Balochistan unless you get a guarantee that it is your place. May Allah give him a higher place in Jannah.” His powerful words, captured in a widely shared video, resonated deeply across social media, sparking widespread outrage and concern over the nation’s security landscape.

The brutal murder of Ali Murtaza has ignited a fierce debate among citizens regarding the deteriorating security situation in Pakistan. Social media platforms are awash with messages of devastation, with many asserting that no Pakistani deserves such a fate, yet safety remains elusive for many. Public discourse now openly questions the competence of security forces and the Army, demanding accountability and effective measures to protect citizens. The tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for comprehensive strategies to ensure the safety of all citizens traversing their homeland.
