Tipu Sharif Reveals He Turned Down Hum TV’s Mere Qatil Mere Dildar Lead Role

In a candid appearance on Fuchsia Magazine‘s YouTube show, the actor revealed he turned down Hum TV‘s lead role in the iconic drama Mere Qatil Mere Dildar — a decision he now calls the biggest missed opportunity of his career.

Sharif, who is half Pakistani and half Turkish, has been a consistent presence on Pakistani television for over a decade. From Sang-e-Mar Mar to Ashk and Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, he has built a reputation as a versatile performer who brings depth to every character. Beyond acting, he is an active philanthropist and devoted animal lover. Currently, audiences are praising his compelling work in Bas Tera Saath Ho, proving his craft has only sharpened with time.

Speaking with disarming honesty, Sharif recounted the pivotal moment. “Once I turned down Hum TV’s iconic lead role for a trip to Malaysia. I was offered the leading role in Mere Qatil Mere Dildar, in which Ahsan Khan, Mehwish Hayat, and Adnan Siddiqui were part of the cast. Instead, I signed Geo TV’s Mere Charagar.” The role ultimately went to Ahsan Khan, who delivered a career-defining performance. Sharif admitted, “I admit that I missed a great opportunity to establish myself as a hero, and now I am not a hero anymore, and I am not sure if I will ever play a hero again.”

Despite the regret, Sharif embraces where he stands today. “However, I can assure you that this second innings of my career is far better than the previous one because this character actor phase is much better than that hero phase.
